Barkers of Kensington
The Barkers of Kensington project involved a comprehensive redevelopment and retrofit of the historic Art Deco department store. Works will include contemporary entrances, a reimagined atrium with new lifts and bridges, and upgraded office spaces, blending heritage features with modern commercial design.
Task
Robson Roofing delivering high performance structural waterproofing solution across all roof areas comprising 7,000 m², including main roofs and terrace areas, ensuring high performance, durability, and thermal efficiency. Emrys project specification comprises the following. R1 Specification- Structural Hotmelt Waterproofing applied to main roofs and terraces with 160mm extruded polystyrene insulation, achieving a U-value of 0.18 W/m²K. R2 Specification Bitumen felt Warm Roof Construction, bitumen three-layer felt system on bespoke tapered scheme, achieving 0.18 W/m²K. Roof Finishes: Extensive green roofs, 600 × 600 × 50 mm paving, and gravel ballast in field areas. PMMA System: Cold-applied system to lantern roofs within the warm roof construction.
